Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Today I spent a lot of time in my chair with my feet elevated due to some intense Braxton-Hicks contractions. The older Green kids played baseball with the younger ones, and I wish I could have been closer to zoom in on the action with my camera. However, I noticed from the back of the house......

Julieann interrupted the game.....

to ask Carolyn.....

if she could be a cheerleader!!!!!!

In the darkness of the evening the eyes of my heart are awake to you. In the quiet of the night I long to hear again intimations of your love.........

Thursday, November 26, 2009 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Perhaps we have not counted

Our blessings one by one;

Perhaps we have not bothered

Rememb'ring whence they come;

And maybe we have taken

For granted all the things

The good Lord has created,

And by His hand He brings.

If we've failed to clearly show

By word or act or deed

A thankful heart unto Him

Who fills our daily need,

May we show our gratitude

Today---and count the sum

Of all the blessings that we have

And name them one by one.

Today the Pilgrims caught a glimpse of......

The Indians emerging from the woods.

 .

The Pilgrims and Indians came together under peaceful terms.

The Indians displayed their superior hunting skills and.....

spotted a large deer in the woods.

Meanwhile, the Pilgrim ladies were collecting berries and...

grinding corn until.....

they heard the men approaching with....

game to prepare for a feast!

The Pilgrims are beginning to appear around the Green house!!!!!

Kenny and Daniel helped Mama with grocery shopping today since Mama is finding it harder to be on my feet for an extended period of time. They picked out a Turducken to cook for Thanksgiving (boneless duck breast stuffed inside a boneless chicken breast stuffed inside a turkey breast). We are all excited about preparing the bird on Thanksgiving morning!!!

PIONEER DAYS IN LINCOLNTON, GEORGIA

Carolyn's role is always to set up our display at craft shows. She does a wonderful job!

Benjamin on his way to visit the old saw mill.

Nathaniel LOVES to share with Julieann! He was delighted to give her a lick of his lollipop.

The Green children taking a much needed break.

Joseph watching intently the happenings at the old country store

Overall, we had a fun and eventful day selling soap! The children always love dressing up (thank you Ms. Sarah) and stepping back in time. We enjoy working together as a family making our soap, and enjoy meeting people that benefit from using our products!

RAINBOWS

At precisely 4:15pm everyday, a rainbow appears by the fish aquarium.

Julieann and Nathaniel love to look at the bright colors.

Psalm 9:1 - I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

Nathaniel was so proud that he brought me eggs from the chickens today! He decided to use his shirt rather than the egg basket......

He was busy telling me how many he had in his shirt that he got a LITTLE excited and......

dropped a couple! Oh well. We still should have plenty for Carolyn to make cookies for Kenny and Daniel's snack tonight. :)

PRICELESS

When the little ones go to bed in the evening, sometimes Kenny and Daniel like a little snack. Last night they wanted Carolyn to make them one so.... Daniel bargained with Carolyn that he would help with folding clothes and sorting mismatched socks if she would cook. Carolyn and I couldn't miss the opportunity for this picture of the guys in the closet chit chatting and folding clothes!!!!!!!

Bless this house, O Lord, we pray.

Let your joy shine here today.

Fill each corner with Your grace.

Make this home a peaceful place.

Let laughter ring throughout the hall.

Bring harmony to these four walls.

With Kenny on a business trip to Ohio, Joseph led Bible devotions tonight.  Daniel has had his turn for so many years, so he let Joseph take the honors.  My boys are definitely in training to be strong family leaders.

GOD'S WORLD

I'm glad I am living this morning

Because the day is so fair,

And I feel God's prescence so keenly

About me, everywhere.

The heavens declare His glory,

The trees seem to speak of His power,

And I see His matchless beauty

In each small, growing flower.

The rocks all tell of His wonder;

In the hills His strength I see;

And the birds are singing His praises

In the songs that they sing to me.

Oh, I'm glad to be living this morning

In a world of beauty so rare

Where the God of Heaven is hovering

About me, everywhere.

Thomas and Nathaniel's favorite book: CAPS FOR SALE. Thomas thought he would have a little fun before bathtime tonight.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

This morning after school lessons Nathaniel fell asleep in my arms. People often ask how can I spend "one on one" time with each of my children in such a large family and so much to do. My response is that by being home 24 hours a day, I am always available when a child wanders in and just wants to talk, or ask a question, or fall asleep in Mama's arms. Over the course of time, the Lord always provides a apecial time for each of my children. Today was Nathaniel's day. He just wanted to linger around Mama and talk and play and read books, until he finally fell asleep.

While the others were outside playing, Nathaniel played duplos at my feet. He showed me how he could build a gun and shoot. I am very thankful for my special time with Nathaniel today. Only the Lord knows who's turn it will be tomorrow...........

SPENDING TIME TODAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HAY PASTURE

Taking time to visit with Maggie on the way to the pasture.

Joseph and Benjamin playing with the youngest of our nannies.

Grace and the boys were trying to hit the center of the hay bales for recreation.

Picking rocks for shooting. Ready...

Aim...

Fire!

Nathaniel was so troubled that the blackberries were all gone from summer. You can see the frustration on his face. He stood there for the longest time insisting the blackberries were still there.

Heading back home to meet Daddy at the house for a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup!

OLDER BOYS HELPING THE YOUNGER BOYS

Today was the day of no training wheels for Nathaniel. Joseph was very patient teaching Nathaniel how to ride and balance.

Thomas has been riding without training wheels (mostly) for the past year, but finds it difficult to get started without help. Benjamin is the one always there for helping Thomas.

"I want to see you brave and manly, and I also want to see you gentle and tender."

--President Theodore Roosevelt speaking to Bud and Me (the Abernathy boys) before venturing out on one of their cross country trips.

It is a mother's delight to see her boys be tough, brave, and adventuresome. At the same time, Kenny and I believe our boys should be thoughtful, considerate, and gentle to younger ones. Today I watched my boys from the window with joy in my heart!!!!!
