Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Nathaniel's words to Julieann: "Just look"

"Don't touch."

Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - Happy 10th Birthday Joseph

We've enjoyed 10 years watching Joseph grow into a fine young man. The Lord has blessed him with the gift of entertaining and caring for little children, working beside his mother and father, and lending a hand to his brothers and sisters.

Joseph showed Thomas how to cut with his new hatchet today.

Carolyn recruited Joseph to help with his birthday cake. We've been studying WWI and WWII in school so Joseph decided he wanted a cake with a grenade and army soldiers.

Carolyn is such a great sport trying to fulfill birthday cake orders no matter what the request!

THE OLDER TEACHING THE YOUNGER

Grace practices her piano for the evening.

Carolyn reviews notes with Grace.

Grace becomes a little confused and....

insists she is correct.

Sometimes it takes a lot of patience to teach little sisters.....

THE SIMPLE JOYS

Fried egg sandwiches ...

on the front porch.

Children working without complaining and...

Babies rolling on the floor.

OH, FAIR TO SEE

Oh, fair to see

Bloom-laden cherry tree,

Arrayed in sunny white.....

And today Dixie and Daisy were rather mischievious. They pulled the phone wires out of the box outside and got into our trash. The children were outside playing in the cherry tree when they called me to come take a look.....

Daisy decided she likes oats the best!

She could not get the can off her head and looked so...

humiliated.

MANNERS

Water and soap will make you sweet;

Brush.....

and comb will keep you neat;

But "Thank you," "Please," and "Pardon me,"

Will make a sweeter child of thee.

BATHROOM UPDATE

We've finished the wainscoting and painted it white.

Kenny and the children cut some backerboard for the tile laying.

The boys helped Daddy position the backerboard.

Benjamin and Thomas enjoyed watching Daddy cut the tile with the nippers.

So far we have the tile complete in the potty area---still more backerboard, tile laying, duct work for the heating and air, and plumbing left to finish....

We had to bury the little buck this morning after breakfast. We are thankful the little doe is thriving and the children are enjoying holding and snuggling her. Julieann sprained her foot yesterday, so Carolyn decided to put her in one of my carriers to visit in the goat pen!

Julieann enjoys the baby goat.

Dixie and Daisy are learning to enjoy all the farm animals as well!

PLAYING IN A SEA OF DAFFODILS

The little buck is still very weak. We have been putting him on his mother every couple of hours today to try and help him grow stronger. We'll see what tomorrow brings.....

Anna Rose ventured out in her baby sling to see the baby goats.

NEW BABY GOATS

Today Margie gave birth to twins, a doe and a little buck.

Grace enjoyed giving the new doe a kiss.

The male is quite a bit smaller than the doe, and a lot weaker. Daniel tried to put him on Margie to get some milk. We'll have to see if he makes it through the night......

A RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA and the Green children.....

Step back in time to an old train station.

Where Joseph, in the station, distributes tickets to the passengers (he borrows Carolyn's piano bench for his counter).

Inside the station, Carolyn entertains passengers headed for Montana, Arizona, and other destinations.

Grace shows her ticket to the train engineer and...

checks in her baggage.

Our train station is set in a time when gentlemen still help ladies onto the train.

Finally, the ladies have reached their destination.... but

Julieann decides to play the part of the OUTLAW instead!

Daddy and Mommy have always wanted to go to Montana!

A DAY FOR A PICNIC

Grace and Anna Rose enjoyed the breeze on the front porch.

Julieann called everyone together for a picnic.

Thomas and Grace enjoyed each other's company while waiting for their sandwiches.

Joseph was the designated drink maker and....

Caroyln was the designated sandwich maker.

A beautiful day for a picnic!

SWEET BOYS BRINGING MOTHER FLOWERS

If you want to be happy,

Just begin to be glad;

Keep thinking of others

And never be sad.

Don't wait till tomorrow;

But start right away,

Just doing some kindness

For someone each day.

BABY'S THOUGHTS

I'm a very little baby,

Little face,

and hands

and feet;

And my mother says she never

Saw a baby half so sweet.

A DAY FOR.....

loads of laundry.....

baby tooth pulling.....

doggie kisses.....

and more loads of laundry.

For those of you inquiring, yes, the donkeys made the heart shape in the hay bale themselves. Jack eats on one side, and Jill on the other, and the result is a heart in the middle!
