Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

This evening the Green children fed persimmons to the donkeys.

With no rain, you can see that even petting the donkeys produces a lot of dust.

Julieann enjoyed climbing on Jill's back for a little ride.

And Miss Anna Rose had to complete her nightly studies with MY reading glasses this time (of course to coordinate with her red outfit).

She got a little tickled when we told her she won the "Most Intelligent" award!

Benjamin has been looking forward to Fall!

He carved this pumpkin man out of bass wood and painted the final product.

And it's a lot of fun to watch your child while she concentrates,

deeply,

and with serious thought,

until she finally,

finds the solution!

MONDAY, SCRUB DAY

Friday, August 26, 2011

Lined up at the bus door waiting for Mr. Jonathan at...

the airport!

Kenny had to take some work related pictures from the air this evening, so everyone had a chance to ride in Mr. Jonathan's airplane.

Co-pilot Grace!

After the big boys' and the little boys' turns, the girls finally climbed aboard.

Anna Rose and I enjoyed watching from the sidelines. She enjoyed herself very much!

Big brother helping little sister...

A gentle push soon turns into...

a speedy race through the front yard with childlike laughter, and then...

the collision...

Oh my, sooooooo much fun!

My dear, sweet Julieann.

And today at my doctor's appointment we learned the baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule, which means another BIG Green baby on the way. The girls were excited to assemble the bassinet and dream of holding our newest little one.....

"A woman who loves Jesus Christ as her Mediator avoids immodesty because she refuses to distract from or misrepresent the purity of the Gospel: it's that simple. What you wear is connected to the Cross."

Today we spent more time working on the laundry room. The wiring, insulation, and hanging the door are now complete. The boys learned and helped quite a bit.

"O Holy Spirit,

As the sun is full of light, the ocean full of water, Heaven full of glory,

so may my heart be full of Thee."

WATERING THE RAMS UP THE HILL 1/4 MILE WITHOUT THE GOLF CART OR DANIEL'S TRUCK TO HELP.....

"The greatest investment a boy can make is in Godly character. One may have physical strength, bodily health, a large bank account, and mental brilliancy, but if he is without sound character he never can become a great man of God. A good character makes a good man. A great character makes a great man. A Godly character makes a Godly man. But it can not be inherited, be handed down by father to son, nor be bought for a price. It must be built by choice and effort. Reputation is what we appear to be; character is what we are. A reputation may be lost in a moment, or in a single act; character will stand the test of time. Reputation is the shadow; character is the substance.

The world's greatest need is men of right character on the farm, in the workshop, behind the counter, in the profession, the pulpit and the pew. Great and good men are needed in all walks of life."

Nothing like a good 'ole campfire stew for dinner! I believe Thomas was pretty inventive looking around the farm for just the right "supplies".

Benjamin has talent for constructing wooden crosses!

Today Surgeon Grace operated on Thomas while Miss Anna Rose assisted.

.

Just a few more years and Anna Rose will be bicycling with the others.

And to top off the evenng, Carolyn made delicious brownies!

Julieann grabbed a handful of feed to give to the goats,

but they decided they wanted more than a handful!!!!!

The golf cart died yesterday and is now in the shop. Today while I was in the house preparing to leave for my doctor's appointment, the older Green children were supervising the younger Green children. Everyone invented "new fun" since the golf cart was out of commission. I am constantly reminded that there is One ALWAYS watching over my children when I am not present.....

CHOOSING THE BEST FOR OUR CHILDREN

"...we seem to have lost the knack of appreciating the ordinary. We provide our children with so much that the extraordinary isn't special any more, and the subtle rhythms of daily life elude us altogether. We do so much and savor too little. We mistake the activity for happiness, and so we stuff our children's days with activities, and their heads with information, when we ought to be feeding their souls instead."

This evening we celebrated Grammy's birthday.

Everyone enjoyed each other's company while listening to the piano and violin entertainment.

We even persuaded Daniel to join Caitlin in a duet on the piano.

and AFTER.

We lost a dear friend of the family last night, Carolyn's piano teacher. She was a strong Christian woman and will be deeply missed.....

"Sorrow... brings out many of the better qualities of the household lives. It takes something of the hardness out of every heart. It deepens the meaning of life. If the music is not so loud afterward, yet it is sweeter....."

Caitlin, Daniel, and Joseph decided to venture out on horseback this evening before dinner. From Joseph's story, he and Caitlin left Daniel in the dust.....

OUR VERSION OF "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND"

Monday, August 1, 2011

What happens when a pregnant Momma needs some rest and the children have just come home from the dentist?

They decorate me with their stickers, and think it's cute to take a picture.

And when Grandma visits everyone is eager to unload "treasures" from her car.
