Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Today was a beautiful day for planting in the garden.

Julieann enjoyed planting with all of her older siblings.

One Green boy in particular got a little carried away digging holes!

And after some planting, Julieann decided to play on the "balance beam".

Caitlin visited with us today and helped keep Autumn Faith happy.

A bike ride always brings a smile to a sweet baby's face.

Friday, March 30, 2012 - Happy 12th Birthday Joseph!!

How fitting that today, Joseph would have the opportunity to demonstrate his manhood.

We discovered two of these water moccasins by the pond, and we believe he wounded one of them. Kenny and I have shared with Joseph how special he is to our family, and we pray the Lord will continue to grow him into a fine, young, God fearing man.

Nathaniel's orthopedic doctor at MCG wants to run a MRI on his toe next month. And so we wait a little longer to see why his toe keeps growing...

Big brother, little sister, and a baby chick - absolutely priceless.

Thomas was sweet to show Autumn Faith a Bible storybook today.

And there is nothing more enjoyable than a spring picnic on the front porch,

except maybe the spring breeze blowing through your hair.

It is simply wonderful to see this precious baby face staring at her Momma.

The guys spent time this afternoon just hanging around...

literally.

And there is nothing like a little baby foot to sweeten a cup of ice cream.

My sweet Rosie loves flowers.

And we have been relaxing outside enjoying the beautiful weather!

The warm weather motivated Carolyn and me to try a new recipe: marinated chicken sausage with mango, pineapple, black beans and cilantro over rice. Delicious!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

The little girls decided it was their turn to feed the calves this morning.

And Thomas used all his strength while mowing through thick grass today.

Friday, March 23, 2012

When I asked Nathaniel to throw away the baby's diapers, he made sure he was prepared for the job!

Thursday, March 22, 2012

It's that time of year again, and the Green family is hoping at least one of the many lawnmowers will crank properly. Julieann protects her ears,

while Anna Rose protects her little toesies.

WATCHING MOMMY GET READY FOR THE DAY

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

The first day of spring brought a picnic on the front porch,

the first yellow jacket sting of the season (on the bottom of the foot),

a cherry blossom flower bouquet,

millions of doggie kisses,

and precious conversations between sisters.

"Did you hear Daniel saw two water moccasins by the pond?"

.

"Yikes, it's going to be a snakey year."

While the Green family visited South Carolina, we spent time at the Revolutionary War Battle of Cowpens. It was very interesting to see where the Calvary was hidden in the bottom of the woods, and where the Continentals and Militia were stationed on the battlefield.

And Nathaniel Green had to pose for a picture by a quote from General Nathanael Greene about the success of the battle.

This is Daddy during the photo shoot,

and this is Mommy (thanks to Carolyn and her behind the scenes photography)..

Today I found my girls blowing dandelions in the grass while...

my boys were far above climbing trees. It's so good to be home...

Today we enjoyed hearing Ken Ham, President of Answers in Genesis. We hope to someday soon visit him at The Creation Science Museum in Kentucky.

Before leaving the convention, Grace shared some of our goat milk soap with Dr. Voddie Baucham.

And so the conference is over. I told Nathaniel that sometimes when we leave a certain place, Mommy gets tears in her eyes too. See post here. Kenny and I are motivated, encouraged, and thankful for the homeschooling road that lies before us. Voddie Baucham asked the parents this afternoon, " Are you homeschooling for Harvard or Heaven?" No amount of knowledge could be as important as having our children walking along beside us daily, living out the little moments, and pointing them to the One who is in control of it all...

Carolyn helped us decide which sessions to attend at the Homeschool Conference today.

After visiting the vendor hall, and coming back to the campground for an afternoon rest, almost every Green child could be found reading a new book,

including the eldest of the Green clan.

And Autumn Faith couldn't resist waving at her Mommy behind the camera.

My oldest and youngest daughters...

This evening we were very thankful to attend Voddie Baucham's session on Multigenerational Vision for Homeschooling. He is such a God-honoring, humble man, and his words were an encouragement to our family.

Thursday, March 15, 2012

The Green family is in Spartanburg, SC for the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Conference. Today at the campground the Green children spent time playing games before attending the opening sessions.

And tonight we had the privilege of visiting with one of our favorite speakers, Mr. Doug Phillips.

The time has come. My sweet Rosie is starting to protest when someone wants to take a picture.

But no matter how hard she tries to resist, the smile begins to form, and we capture it...

Monday, March 12, 2012

Daddy's glasses make schoolwork much more enjoyable.

And a brother makes riding bikes more fun!

Saturday, March 10, 2012 - HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY GRACE!!!

We are thankful for our sweet Grace. Her service to others (with a smile on her face) is a trait we see the Lord building in her character. Mommy and Daddy love you very much!

Thursday, March 8, 2012

We traditionally sell our pecans, but this year we decided to keep some of our own. Today the Green children took turns shelling (and sampling) Shakerock Farm's pecans. Hopefully we will have an ample supply for...

Carolyn's gourmet fudge!

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

There is always time during school lessons for a cuddle break with baby.

And Rosie is serious about playing and singing "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus."

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

The girls enjoyed a Starbucks treat today while Daddy and Mommy...

shared a bologna sandwich :)

Monday, March 5, 2012

In the past the Green children have pulled tarps, rubbermaid lids, and a sled behind the golf cart. Today they rediscovered a broken gator and decided to give it a try. Recess breaks are no longer swing sets and slides!

DADDY'S WALMART HELPERS

Friday, March 2, 2012

We spent an enjoyable evening with the Donehoos playing music, eating dinner, and talking into the night.

Thursday, March 1, 2012

"Grant me, O Lord, to know what is worth knowing,

to love what is worth loving,

to praise what delights you most,

to value what is precious in your sight,

and above all to search out

and do what pleases you, through Jesus Christ our Lord."

---Thomas A. Kempis
