Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Tonight Nathaniel had the opportunity to try real skates celebrating Carolyn's 16th birthday (which is actually next Saturday).

After a few spins around the rink, the Green crew found skating to be less of a challenge.

Grammy and Grandpa, Aunt April and Uncle Steve, Caitlin, cousins, and our Green crew took a much needed break for hot dogs and birthday cake.

Having the rink to ourselves was very enjoyable, especially for the little ones to learn to skate.

Each day a Green child is assigned a particular room that he/she is responsible for cleaning. Today Nathaniel had the school room, and since we spend a large part of our day learning, playing, and reading in the school room, it can get quite messy. We are trying to teach our children to work with a servant's heart instead of a complaining attitude. Nathaniel thought he would take a difficult job and make it fun by cleaning while "skating".

He found a lego car and strapped a girl's hair twisty to it for one "skate", and for the other "skate" he found the base of a trebuchet and used a scrap of fabric for the tie. I'm proud of his cheerful attitude and ingenuity :)

While nursing Autumn Faith at lunchtime, I snapped this picture through the window in the play area. Today's lunch was sandwiches and Cheez-Its, and of course there must be a Cheez-It King :)

"You don't raise wise, godly children by feeding them on the complicated things of life, but on the simple things.

A wise child should feed on simple things, and those simple things of life will help him know to refuse evil

and choose good."

---Dr. S. M. Davis

JULIEANN'S FIRST TRIP TO THE DENTIST

Saturday, August 25, 2012

A pleasant day for twirling...

and exploring.

Friday, August 24, 2012

In the mornings our family receives goat milk , while in exchange, the goats receive...

coffee???

And they love it!!!! All "kidding" aside, when the scoop has been chewed by dogs, the Greens grab the next best tool for dispensing goat feed. In our household, that happens to be a coffee cup. The little girls love to scoop out goat feed with the coffee cup and give them a daily treat.

Yes, we still find it amusing...

WHY A BROWNIE BREAK IS NEEDED

AFTERNOON BROWNIE BREAK

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Some of the Greens work in the evenings after dinner,

while others make time for play...

Nathaniel's toe appointment with Dr. Cearley went well today. When we came home this afternoon, he was so thankful to swim once again!!!

And the game of the evening - Nerf dart guns.

Everyone rushed excitedely to the stone gate when Daddy was spotted down the road.

This was my view from the front porch of a Nerf dart gun ambush.

And this was Kenny's view...

Notice that Daniel was next in line for an attack.

And this little girl was probably the most dangerous :)

Saturday is a work day around the farm.

Having a pecan orchard means there are always branches on the ground. The boys did a great job using the golf cart and wagon to haul all the branches to the woods.

Friday, August 17, 2012

Ready for some serious study!!!

And today the boys enjoyed inspecting the hay pasture and counting the total number of bales...

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

This is Nathaniel's look...

when everyone else is swimming in the pool.

But a special after-dinner coffee treat with Daddy makes everything a little brighter :)

Future dentist?

Sometimes an evening stroll on the farm can be tiring for little legs...

Monday, August 13, 2012

Both Anna Rose and Autumn Faith enjoyed sharing a lollipop this weekend.

And when you have 5 boys with Nerf dart guns, anything can be used as a target.

This evening, with the glorious weather, the Green children enjoyed frolicking through the horse pasture. Rosie especially loved picking flowers.

She was trying to keep up with her siblings. Yes, that's Nathaniel in the background, barefoot with a bandage on his toe, not letting any recent surgery slow him down!!!

When Rosie reached Nathaniel, I was able to capture this sweet gesture.

This is how I found Julieann this afternoon...Maybe a little apprehensive about the new school year?

Friday, August 10, 2012

A hammer, some stakes,

and an old tarp,

make childhood so delightful!!!

Thursday, August 9, 2012

Nathaniel checks on his toe nightly waiting for the stitches to dissolve so he can join his siblings once again in the pool...

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

We've been busy finalizing school curriculum and putting in new "commercial" carpeting for our crew. Kenny completed the floor just in time for the upcoming school year! I believe it will withstand 10 children very well and Autumn Faith has given her approval!

And even though the garden is now overgrown, Thomas insisted that there was a good watermelon growing. He and Benjamin went on a watermelon search.

At last they located the watermelon,

and couldn't resist sampling it right away!

In the cool of the summer evenings, the girls have been enjoying the "spider lillies".

Monday, August 6, 2012

Playing "house" in the ferns is a lot of fun...

especially when others join in on the fun!

And this weekend we celebrated Grammy's birthday. Grammy is still young at heart!

Isn't it so sweet that my baby girl throws me kisses while I'm taking pictures of her?

Such a happy baby...

The book just happens to be "TEN in the bed".....

Thursday, August 2, 2012

Dr. Cearley examined Nathaniel's toe today and said everything looked great! Another 2 weeks and he should be swimming with his brothers and sisters again!

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

"Loves me, loves me not, loves me..."

Sometimes a snack lunch is the most fun!

And the boys enjoyed Grandpa taking them to banjo lessons today (especially the milkshakes afterwards)!!!
