Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Nathaniel enjoyed helping Grace bake Auntie Ms. Katherine's chocolate chip cookies. He quickly learned that you don't turn the mixer on level 10 when adding flour!

Benjamin always takes a few moments out of his day to read to his siblings.

And we're not quite sure what these two were doing!

But they truly have fun together!

Julieann and Anna Rose received a play kitchen for Christmas, and I grabbed my camera quickly today to remember how sweetly all the Green children were playing together.

Yesterday while Carolyn, Joseph, Benjamin, and Grace were playing their instruments at the Donehoo Family Gathering, Kenny and I took a break and visited the old Roswell Mill with the little Greens.

Nathaniel was intrigued with the water wheel from the Civil War Era. The Roswell Mill was a textile and woolen mill that produced Confederate Gray uniforms for the South. In 1864, Union troops captured 400 mill workers (most of them women and children due to the men fighting in the Civil War) and sent them North. Most of the women and children died from starvation or exposure, and only a handful ever returned to Georgia.

Kenny and I both used the same words when we reached this point of our walk: "Look at the POWER".

And Autumn Fatih was a content little girl during our history adventure.

Today the children played with Mr. Dave at the Donehoo family gathering in Roswell, Ga. Everyone had a very enjoyable afternoon! Anna Rose supported her siblings by playing her wooden fiddle. And the other little Greens shared the wooden guitar in the audience.

Even little Autumn Faith took her turn with the wooden instruments, and knew exactly what to do!

New, warm hats make farm chores in winter more bearable.

Tonight, Autumn Faith thought Carolyn looked a little "silly".

Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - Merry Christmas !!!

The manger scene is now complete. The Green children have been adding figures since the beginning of December. We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas today!

"You know not what joys may be stored up for you in the cottage around which grace will plant the roses of content."

---Charles H. Spurgeon

Friday, December 21, 2012 ... continued

After the girls hung snowflakes, I heard them singing a song and laughing. I asked them if they would sing it again. They agreed, and the words to their song are, "Snowflakes...for me...everyday." And yes, the picture behind Julieann did fall.

Today to celebrate the first day of winter, the Green children placed "sticky" snowflakes on the windows.

Rosie liked the blue one best.

And before our Christmas party with family, Grace took the time to teach Autumn Faith a song.

Party time!!! I caught Anna Rose looking a little excited about the punch selection. Caitlin made a Christmas punch, Joseph made a sparkling cran-orange punch, and Mama and Carolyn made a coffee punch.

Everyone enjoyed the selection of food.

Grammy and Grandpa let the little girls open their presents first since they were bouncing up and down.

And for some reason, everyone was really interested to watch Daniel and Caitlin open their gifts. I snapped this shot while chuckling at the grownups acting like children:)

"Learning the banjo chords can be very difficult."

Joseph and Benjamin were sweet to make all the "little" Greens wooden instruments to play. Autumn Faith loves sitting in Joseph's lap strumming the banjo.

Sharing a sweet treat!

Carolyn's younger siblings love learning Chemistry with her in our homeschool. Some of the Green children have learned interesting facts about the Periodic Table, but today, there was only so much information their little brains could handle. I had 5 Green children asleep at one time.

"Tradition!" "Without our traditions, our lives would be as unstable as a fiddler on the roof."

---Tevye from the musical "Fiddler on the Roof"

"We might ask... what the relationship is between tradition and what we teach. It is this: The heart is the same. For a Christian, the heart of our traditions, and the heart of our teaching is God, whom we know through his acts and his words." ---Noel Piper

My boys love sharpening their homemade knives, and they choose to sit right beside the warm heater in the school room on chilly mornings.

The little girls enjoy milking and feeding the goats in the mornings with Carolyn, and also acting silly.

Grace makes sure they behave themselves and don't get into too much mischief.

Julieann has always loved Maggie (our registered Toggenburg on the right).

My two shepherd girls.

"Buster" wanted to play battle of the dominant billy goat today. He thinks Joseph is one of the herd.

And throughout the years with our many Green babies, Maggie has learned that her job is to give gentle rides to the little ones.

In the Green household, there is always a little "silliness"(foreground) mixed with some "seriousness"(background).

Having fun with brother,

and squeezing his "cute" cheeks.

Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - Happy 3rd Birthday Anna Rose !

Today we celebrated Anna Rose's 3rd Birthday. She truly brings a "sweet fragrance" to our family. We are thankful to the Lord for allowing Rosie to be a part of our lives for the past 3 years.

And everyone of all ages enjoys birthday balloons.

Such a sweet birthday girl!

Taking a walk...

and finding interesting rocks.

Poor Rosie. She tried and tried to push Julieann and Autumn Faith in the wagon, but it never got very far. Julieann and Autumn Faith did not seem to mind. They were too engrossed in conversation.

"Home is the magic circle

within which the spirit finds refuge;

It is the sacred asylum by which

the care worn heart retreats to find rest

from all the toils and care of life.

Home!

The name touches every fiber of our soul."

"God, I never got to hold my baby and tell him about You.

So, can you hold him and tell him about me?"

---Unknown

The Lord has chosen to take our newest little Green baby Home to Heaven.

I am thankful to be at home and resting now. My strength is slowly coming back from the blood transfusion. Thank

you for your concern, prayers, and meals during this difficult time.
