Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Uplifting General Meeting this weekend in Swainsboro, Ga and delicious ice cream break on the way back home. Thank you Brother Harry!

And this beautiful bouquet of roses was not picked by one of the little Greens (who always bring some wildflowers in from the great outdoors), but these roses were picked by my 17 year old, who handed them to me with the blood trickles on his hands from the briers and thorns he fought to get at them by his fishing hole. And why?... Because he knew his Mama needed them. :)

SRF

Saturday was a day for planning...

SRF

and planting the garden with flowers for the upcoming wedding.

SRF

And after Sunday church service, the shoes came off and the baskets were full of goodies!

SRF

James was quite proud of his collection of eggs.

SRF

The front porch: always the gathering place for family :)

SRF

After the little kids' egg hunt, Daddy and Grandpa took their job seriously: hiding eggs for the big kids.

SRF

ON YOUR MARK...GET SET...GO!

SRF

It's always a race trying to find the "prize egg".

SRF

And after working up a sweat, coke and root beer floats were a welcome treat!

SRF

Joseph kindly held Mama's float so I could take pictures :)

SRF

Float break!

SRF

Charles was excited to spend some time fishing at the pond...

SRF

and he caught a bream all by himself (with just a little help from Uncle Benny).

SRF

Just sitting... and talking... and being...

SRF

And it was the bike gang that met Joseph on the pond dam with...

SRF

another trophy gobbler! Roasted turkey breast sandwiches are on the menu for tomorrow's lunch :)

SRF

Today I was sitting in a chair, watching the kids on the pond, and I heard a gunshot. Next thing I know, Benjamin is walking across the pond dam carrying something over his shoulders. All the kids and I rush over to find...

SRF

a trophy turkey gobbler!

SRF

After field dressing the bird,

SRF

and borrowing a few feathers to make quill pens,

SRF

the dinner menu consisted of coconut-crusted turkey strips with dipping sauce! From farm to table fresh :)

SRF

Joseph and Grace were kind to help Carolyn at the bakery this week in order to prepare a large cake order for the Masters.

SRF

Joseph washed LOTS of dishes,

SRF

while Grace helped to make the cake icing.

SRF

Delicious butter pecan cakes ready to be transported to the Augusta National :)

SRF

Saturday Caitlin hosted a family/couples shower honoring John and Carolyn.

SRF

There was a Taco Bar with lots of fixins,

SRF

punches, tea, and lemonade,

SRF

and a strawberry shortcake bar for dessert.

SRF

John and Carolyn had the honor of dining with Charles,

SRF

and then it was time for everyone to share their marriage advice...

SRF

and play games!

SRF

Carolyn was pretty confident of one of her answers in the question game.

SRF

And then several couples participated in the "Which Couple is 'Mint" to Be?" game.

SRF

John and Carolyn were thankful for all of the thoughtful and meaningful gifts,

SRF

and everyone sat back and enjoyed the delightful spring evening.

SRF

At the end of the night, Kenny offered a hay ride to the "little house" where John and Carolyn will be living after the wedding. I believe it was an enjoyable evening for all!
