Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Today Daniel, Anna Rose, and I spent time at the Homeschool Conference selecting books for the next school year. This upcoming year will be my last year planning for Daniel's studies and a part of me is sad, remembering fond times learning together. Homeschooling is sooooo much more than academics. It is about relationships. I am thankful that through the years Daniel has formed relationships with His Savior, parents, siblings, and close family friends. I look forward to this last year schooling my first born. Whether it be reading books aloud in the afternoon (yes, children are NEVER too old to be read aloud to), working through challenging math problems, or just sitting and talking about life, I will treasure this last year.....

Today was an errand day for the girls at Joann's for cake decorating supplies and soap fabrics! Grace and Julieann had a little too much fun dressing everyone with boas. Luckily Kenny had his camera phone so I could capture the moment. We had an enjoyable dinner with Daddy and headed home to find the boys all bathed and ready for bed (thank you Daniel).

This afternoon Anna Rose was extremely fussy. Her little tummy must have been upset because she spit up several times on herself and on Momma. At the same time, Nathaniel came in crying about something, and Julieann was screaming about not being able to go down to the goat pen with the older Green kids. I believe there was constant crying for two hours. When Kenny came home, I smelled of a beautiful "perfume" and was at my wit's end.

Later that evening, I was searching through the girl's copywork book and found this quote.....

"When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there."

---Elizabeth Yates

As a mother of nine children, I am still learning patience and total dependence on Him.

My boys always bring me critters.....Whether I'm nursing the baby, teaching phonics, or changing a diaper, I'm summoned to come running and view what is held in little hands.

Today it was tadpoles,

and crawdads!

Kenny, Anna Rose and I returned home from Savannah this evening. Before we left for the weekend,

we were able to get some more work done on the bathroom.

The Green boys assisted Daddy under the house for all the plumbling work.

And the tub is finally in place!!!!

Kenny and I asked Joseph what fish he possibly hoped to catch in our pond with this GIANT lure. We think he's aiming for the mystery fish that seems to eat all the baby goslings. We certainly awarded him with the Mr. Optimistic medal!

May the love of the Lord Jesus draw us to himself;

May the power of the Lord Jesus strengthen us in his service;

May the joy of the Lord Jesus fill our souls.

We have a cherry tree beside our muscadine vines in the front yard. Thomas and Nathaniel were playing in the trees this morning when Nathaniel ran inside with a question.

"Mom, when will these grow into 'musket dimes' "?

I love the sweet wildflowers that bloom

Within the woodland way;

I love the little birds that sing,

And carol at their play.

I love the brook --- the babbling brook,

The trees so strong and tall;

But my dear Lord, who loveth me,

I love Him best of all.

This morning the Green children noticed something moving in the cow pasture.

It was a HUGE snapping turtle and it broke a stick in two!

Fishing was the activity this evening.

Definitely a lesson in patience for Grace.

Joseph helped Carolyn unhook the fish.

Checking for eggs and playing with the horses.

Grace gives Adelina a farm fresh chicken egg to hold.

Julieann thought it was her turn to ride the horse!

She finally decided it would be more fun to swing with Jon!

I paused last eve beside the blacksmith's door,

And heard the anvil ring, the vesper chime;

And looking in I saw upon the floor

Old hammers, worn with beating years of time.

" How many anvils have you had?" said I,

"To wear and batter all these hammers so?"

"Just one," he answered. Then with twinkling eye:

"The anvil wears the hammers out, you know."

And so, I thought, the anvil of God's Word

For ages skeptics' blows have beat upon;

But though the noise of falling blows was heard,

The avil is unchanged; the hammers gone.

After church service we headed over....

to my brother and sister-in-law's house for dinner and family time.

Everyone enjoyed playing pool and...

the piano.

Grandpa enjoyed rocking grandbabies!

Of course there was a time for some good ole fashioned arm wrestling.

Even the girls got in on the fun.

And finally, the Easter Egg Hunt! Thank you Aunt April, Uncle Steve, and Grammy and Grandpa for a pleasant afternoon!

I ran inside today after lunch to check on some soap cooking in the kitchen, and I heard the cry, "Help, help."

Two little boys were stuck in the muscadine vine and couldn't get down on their own.

Big brother to the rescue!
