Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

I have only just a minute,

Only sixty seconds in it;

Forced upon me, can't refuse it,

Didn't seek it, didn't choose it;

But it's up to me to use it.

I must suffer if I lose it;

Give account if I abuse it.

Just a tiny little minute,

But eternity is in it.

- Unknown

With the New Year approaching, the Green family is hoping to spend every minute of 2011 wisely!!!!!

I shot an arrow into the air,

It fell to earth, I knew not where;

For, so swiftly it flew, the sight

Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,

It fell to earth, I knew not where;

For who has sight so keen and strong,

That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward in an oak

I found the arrow, still unbroke;

And the song, from beginning to end,

I found again in the heart of a friend.

The look in his eyes is back and the wheels in his head are turning.

Benjamin is working on a project. He doesn't want anyone to know so we'll have to wait until it's completed.

And today Nathaniel and Thomas were enjoying the weather and their bow and arrows.

They were shooting them everywhere!

And they were pretty good shots too!

Today Grace invented a bowling game: Anna Rose's bouncy ball with...

Thomas' hay bales.

And as I was organizing the soap and lotion shelves, Nathaniel decided to be my helper. When I came to the cleansing oil bottles Nathaniel said, "Oh, this is your FLOWER SAUCE." It was so cute that I may rethink my label names!

And Kenny had a little too much fun with the stickers that were on the boys crossbows for Christmas:

Now that she is walking and into everything, the label is very appropriate!.

brothers gathering LOTS of firewood,

sisters heading out for morning milking chores,

a sweet girl enjoying a sweet Christmas ring pop,

an energetic puppy dog,

a coyote prowling for food on the farm,

a Daddy trying to prevent him from returning,

and a beautiful sunset at the end of the day.

While visions of...

popcorn danced in their heads! Daniel enjoyed using the new popcorn machine this morning to make bowlfuls for, yes, breakfast. All of the Green children love when Daniel cooks because he adds that little extra bit of seasoning. We had a very relaxing day at home watching all the little ones play games and open presents. We hope your family had a Merry Christmas too !

"And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Green Family!

The food...

The Christmas carols...

The gifts...

And Grandpa's patience to open up baby doll packages...

All was part of a very enjoyable evening - and Julieann continued to sip her punch throughout the festivites.

Warm, Christmas, apple pies...

and sharing them with neighbors...

and friends.

Even the youngest of the Green children can take some time out of each day for some deep, theological study. Seriously, this is the book Anna Rose chose to pull out from my bookshelf and check out from cover to cover.

"It ought to make a young man's heart exult to have a beautiful and noble sister to lean upon his arm and look up to him for protection, for counsel, for strong, holy friendship. And a sister ought to be proud and happy to have a brother growing into manly strength, to stand by her side, to bear upon his arm and to shelter her from life's storms.

Between brother and sister there should be a friendship deep...

and faithful."

Joseph was sweet to make Julieann a crayon holder out of a piece of wood.

Now Julieann has all of her crayons organized for coloring..

And Carolyn made Grace a purple scarf to match her wardrobe.

A rainy day is always perfect for reading.

Grace and Julieann spent time making roses out of playdoh today. Can you tell which is our favorite flower in the Green household?

Friday, December 17, 2010

Today it was warm enough to venture out and spend time with the animals.

Julieann LOVES Maggie.

and Grace enjoyed petting the horses.

The little girls got soooo excited when...

Nathaniel brought them a chicken.

"The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord." -- Psalm 37:23

Look who's walking!!!

And she's very proud of herself.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

This is a sight I see in the mornings before Joseph heads out the door to feed his sheep.

Yes, he warms his clothes on the heater vent.

And this is a sight I see often when Julieann decides to make roller skates out of.....

DUPLO car wheels!

Tuesday Night, December 14, 2010

Tonight the Green family spent time sitting around the fire with the Beggs family while Kenny and Mr. Larry worked on their Suburban that was stranded in Warrenton.

Thankfully Kenny and Mr. Larry fixed the problem, and around 11:00 p.m. they formulated an alternate route to their daughter's house. Little Miss Ellyn enjoyed playing with Julieann during their visit.

Miss Anna Rose was queen for the day!

And somehow this cold weather seems to produce lots of "thinkers" at the Green house.

Saturday, December 11, 2010 - HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY ANNA ROSE!

The Lord truly blessed our family with the birth of Anna Rose one year ago today.

She has been a delightful baby from the very beginning. We pray that the Lord will continue to give us the wisdom to help her blossom and grow into a Godly young lady.

Anna Rose was very excited during the "Happy Birthday" song!

Of course Carolyn had to include roses and Christmas colors on her cake.

A little birthday snuggle time.

"O mothers of young children...Your work is most holy. You are fashioning the destinies of immortal souls. The powers folded up in the little ones that you hushed to sleep in your bosoms last night are powers that shall exist for ever. You are preparing them for their immortal destiny and influence...Be sure that your heart is pure and that your life is sweet and clean. The Persian apologue says that the lump of clay was fragrant because it had lain on a rose. Let your life be as the rose, and then your child as it lies upon your bosom will absorb the fragrance....."

Tonight was the beginning of Thomas' sleep study. After the many wire hookups ...

And in what appeared to be his "Armor Mail," Thomas was asleep in no time.

Please pray all goes well as he continues his testing at MCG.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

This morning Thomas decided to help the little girls with their cooking. Julieann was adding sugar and spice and all things nice, while Thomas was stirring.....

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

This morning it wasn't elephants and tigers that slept in Julieann's hair. She said it was an alligator!

While Daniel was working at the other end of the farm, the remaining Green children had to split some logs that were a "little" too big for the fireplace insert.

Poor Benjamin had some trouble with the axe getting stuck...

and resorted to several different methods to pull it out.

Well, Carolyn decided to give it a try.

Same problem.

Dixie and Daisy thought it was time to run and fetch Daniel.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Morning chores with the animals must be performed,

no matter how cold the weather is outside.

And these two decided to stay warm and cozy playing by the fire.

Everyone completed their school lessons happily today, but enjoyed...

decorating the tree the most!

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Nothing like a pot full of fresh mustard and turnip greens for lunch!

And all of the animals.....

enjoyed the scraps.

Friday, December 3, 2010

This morning while everyone was getting dressed and ready for the day, Anna Rose ventured out of her play area and began exploring the soap and lotion supply cabinet. She was particularly interested in.....

this bag.

And Duchess enjoyed playing with Dixie, Daisy and the children today down by the goat and sheep pen.

Duchess is getting acquainted with all of the farm critters.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

We now have another dog in the family. Duchess is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix and we hope she will be a wonderful watch dog for our goats and sheep (and children).

She is definitely getting LOTS...

and LOTS of love.

Today we pulled out the wreaths from the attic to decorate the house. Right in the middle of decorating, the flower man pulled in the driveway with my December arrangement. Perfect timing! And I realized that I forgot to take a picture of November's flower of the month. It was one of the prettiest bouquets too. Oh well. I have really enjoyed my year of flowers.....
