Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

The personalities of my little girls...

can indeed brighten a mother's day.

I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for this little sweetie...

The little girls LOVE milking and beginning farm chores in the mornings with Carolyn...

And they are learning from Carolyn how to be helpers in the farmhouse kitchen,

and how to snitch bites here and there when Carolyn is not looking.

Benjamin and Nathaniel were responsible for filling up this bucket of pecans all by themselves this afternoon.

And Joseph is now the proud owner of two nubian goats: Lord Nelson and Lady Belle. More goat milk means more goat milk soap!!!

Everyone in the Green household loves snuggling with the new baby. Joseph enjoyed taking a little nap with Autumn Faith this evening.

It's that time of year again! Time for picking up LOTS and LOTS of pecans.

But when the rain comes, everyone grabs their pecan bucket and heads for shelter. Notice the little girls don't seem to mind getting wet.

Autumn Faith loves her bathtime! She relaxes and enjoys soaking in her pink girly bath.

And Benjamin has been working on building an airplane for the little boys, complete with propeller that spins. By the look on Nathaniel's face, I think he is dreaming of the day he will become airborne...

When I'm nursing and caring for the baby in my room, sometimes my little guys like to entertain Momma with their sword fighting techniques. I can honestly say I am NEVER bored or lonely during baby feedings.

And then my "tough" guys help Momma by throwing away all of baby's soiled diapers. Those two traits are what I desire in my sons: to be manly when the time arises, but to be a gentleman - thoughtful and considerate when appropriate. Thank you Nathaniel for adding such joy to my day!

As I have seen in one Autumnal face."

What project were the boys working on today? Yes, Benjamin "borrowed" Thomas' new saw to cut logs.

A raft to float across the pond.

And it worked rather well too...

"Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is placed in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse into the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into its soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,---she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to NO OTHER HANDS the sacred and holy trust given to her."

--- J.R. Miller

Thursday, October 20, 2011 - HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY THOMAS!

Once upon a time there was a boy who received a hammer and measuring tape for one of his birthday gifts.

He set out to build a project with his best buddy, but all they could find to cut their board was an old saw in the barn.

After some time, the birthday boy discovered the saw was stuck...

His best buddy tried to loosen it as well with no success.

Even Master Craftsman Benjamin tried to come to the rescue...

And big sister couldn't stand by without trying her hand at the sawing dilemma.

The birthday boy finally decided he would take his birthday money (thank you Grammy, Grandpa, and Grandma) and purchase...

a NEW saw for the next building project...

A blustery day on the outside...

while all warm and cozy on the inside.

Anna Rose was a little distressed today when she discovered her favorite dolly had been left outside in the rain and mud.

Her exact words, "Eeww, gross."

Sweet baby slumber on a rainy day...

Monday, October 17, 2011

Autumn Faith is home to many loving arms...

and big sisters wanting to make her afghans

and washcloths.

While we were in the hospital, Nathaniel was proud to lose his first tooth (without even noticing while eating an apple).

A very, sweet and precious baby,

a good book recommended by the Green children,

and a Starbucks coffee for a little afternoon pick-me-up.

Meeting Autumn Faith ...

and loving her sooooo much.

Still waiting on baby...

And today we had a series of accidents. Anna Rose had a LONG splinter lodged under her fingernail. It went all the way past the quick of her nail and was causing her whole finger to swell and turn red. During family surgery this evening (Surgeons: Daddy and Mommy, Nurse Carolyn, and MANY brothers and sisters to distract a little girl from looking at her finger), the Lord helped us pull it out!

Also this afternoon, Duchess was hit by our neighbor's van. Miraculously, she seems just fine, walking around and barking like normal. We will continue to monitor her.

Today was a rather wet, dreary day. I'm thankful we captured pictures over the weekend of the glorious Autumn weather!

Grace loves playing with Carolyn's old stick and hoop from Williamsburg. When the little girls saw how it worked, they wanted to give it a try. Rosie was not pleased that Julieann received her turn first.

Julieann finally tired of the crying, and let Anna Rose have her turn a little sooner rather than later.

Some of the boys enjoyed roping one another,

while Thomas relaxed with Daisy in the warm sunshine.

Anna Rose's highlight of the day was picking flowers in the horse pasture and bringing them to Mommy to smell over and over again...

Waiting on baby.....

And this is how Momma waits on baby: wrapping LOTS and LOTS of soap for Pioneer Days in November.

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Last night Thomas helped Joseph in the kitchen to give Benjamin a birthday break from chores. He was an excellent cleaner!

And today the little ones found enjoyment with the empty kiddie pool sliding over and over again.

We discovered Smokey enjoys swinging...

and so does my big girl!

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 - HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY BENJAMIN !

Happy Birthday to our fine carpenter craftsman. Benjamin has given us 10 wonderful years : always eager to help and working with a cheerful attitude. We pray the Lord will continue to bless you as you grow into a fine Christian young man.

Sometimes life hands you playful times,

sometimes serious ones,

and mostly happy times,

but every once in a while, you have to experience the pain of disappointment, and remember to...

"press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 3:14

According to Matthew Henry's Commentary, "The way of those who mind earthly things, may seem pleasant, but death and hell are at the end of it. If we choose their way, we shall share their end. The life of a Christian is in heaven, where his Head and his home are..."

Why are everyone's feet off the ground?

We spotted our first rat snake of the year! Last year we were swamped with rat snakes, but this has been our first sighting. Grace decided to be brave and get a closer look...

Dixie and Daisy intervened to protect the children.

An acorn necklace made by big brother...

Pumpkins serving as decorations on the front porch...

Vegetable soup that lures passersby to take a whiff...

And Joseph's homemade fudge pecan pies baking in the oven.....Oh, how we welcome the new season!
