Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

When it's cold outside, who comes knocking at the back door?

Maggie and friends, hoping for a little warmth around the fire. At least Carolyn didn't have to go very far to milk. Yes, Joseph and Benjamin's job is to fix the fence tomorrow...

The boys have been busy cutting and sanding wooden guns for our upcoming craft show in Thomson (Festival Off Main). We will have our booth with Christmas soaps and lotions,

and the boys will have a barrel

of toy guns for sale.

On the way home...

But one little girl was just pretending...

After eating Thanksgiving leftovers, the Green family spent time playing tennis today. Thank you Caitlin for watching the little girls!

Julieann and Anna Rose took time to explain the game to Autumn Faith. So sweet!

Thursday, November 24, 2011 - Happy Thanksgiving !!!

Today as we came together at the "gathering" table, we thanked the Lord for His provisions, our family, and for His guidance in the coming year.

"Our nature demands home. No spot is so attractive to the weary one; it is the heart's moral oasis; there is a mother's watchful love, and a father's sustaining influence; ...there is the circle of loving brothers and sisters, --happy in each other's love. Oh, what is life without these? A desolation!--a painful, glooming pilgrimage through "desert heaths and barren sands." But home gives to life its fertilizing dews, its budding hopes, and its blossoming joys. When far away in distant lands or upon the ocean's heaving breast, we pine away and become "home-sick"; no voice there like a mother's; no loved one there like a child; no resting place there like home; and we cry out, "Home! sweet, sweet home!"

The food preparations for Thanksgiving dinner began today!

And while Carolyn and I were in the kitchen, Anna Rose kept us informed of everything happening out of the window.

And how do you know when you're precious baby is awake when she's not making a peep? You walk by and see these sweet little toes poking up from the bassinet.

Today the Green children went to the little house to check out books in our "library". Anna Rose was engrossed in a book until...

everyoned decided to have a leaf fight.

Anna Rose is always such a good sport.

She made sure she brushed every leaf out of her hair.

And as the Green crew left the little house, this was the view of evening time on the farm. So many sights and sounds to be thankful for this season...

At the Green house, baby feedings are a common occurrence...

Joseph and Benjamin helped in the soap booth at Pioneer Day.

Nathaniel kept his head warm with his coonskin hat.

And everyone took turns holding Autumn Faith to keep her warm and healthy.

At times, Grammy and Grandpa had their arms full.

Julieann enjoyed watching all of the people.

And everyone is pretty much exhausted after a fun, productive day.

Friday, November 18, 2011

Today the children enjoyed packing boxes and boxes of soap for Pioneer Days in Lincolnton tomorrow. Come see us there from 9am-3pm tomorrow morning -Lots of fun for the whole family!

Whether it be trees in the woods or close to the house, the Green boys can always be found climbing.

And when I saw Autumn Faith staring so sweetly at Grace today, I had to snap a picture.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Today the little girls had lots of fun chasing the falling leaves in the wind,

and trying to catch them,

and put them in piles.

Julieann posed so prettily for the camera...

while Anna Rose just pondered what game they could play next...

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Anna Rose came to me this evening saying, "Baby, bassinet, baby, bassinet." I told her Autumn Faith was sleeping, but she kept insisting that I come see. I then discovered that Anna Rose had been a sweet sister to share her baby doll..

Kenny's breakfast recipe for Farmhouse Omelet with fresh basil. Delicious!

Saturday, November 12, 2011

It was Nathaniel's turn to cook lunch today, and the recipe he chose was Farmhouse BBQ muffins. They were delicious!

Most of the Green crew spent time enjoying our woods today, especially the hollow red maple tree.

My boys LOVE climbing trees!

But wait...what is the concerned look on Julieann's face?

Daddy wants to try climbing the red maple.

I believe Julieann thinks Daddy may have back and knee aches tonight...

On your mark...

Get set...

And our energetic Julieann .

keeping up with her brothers and sisters.

Our little explorer found another fun tree to play hide and seek.

Beautiful autumn colors...

And our beautiful Autumn baby.

Tonight I asked Benjamin to watch the baby for a few minutes while I was busy in the kitchen. When I came back to my room, I found TWO of my "babies" sleeping. No matter how old my children are, they will always be my babies. As I rock and nurse Autumn Faith, I can remember nuturing each one of my other 9 little ones, and am thankful for all I have experienced over the past 18 years...

Thursday, November 10, 2011

I found the little girls in my room this morning playing church with their baby dolls in Autumn Faith's bouncer seat. Precious! We're not quite sure which hymn they were singing.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

This week my boys have been digging trenches, mapping out military strategies, and drilling in the art of correct grenade handling. Yes, Shakerock Farm is well defended...

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

This afternoon all of our goats escaped from their pen and were roaming everywhere. We found some of them on the little house front porch and we found Lady Belle...

carrying on a conversation with Anna Rose.

Saturday, November 5, 2011

These two began the day with a twinkle in their eyes for adventure.

And why was everyone excited this evening?

Daniel (through his farrier business) "inherited" this minature black horse from a client. "Little Bit" is the perfect size for some of our "little" Greens.

Thomas had the privilege of riding "Little Bit" first.

This is the crew I call together in the mornings for school. Yes, we have days that are just plain CRAZY.

And Anna Rose is still locating green cherry tomatoes...

Sometimes school lessons are completed while holding a sweet baby,

and sometimes school lessons are completed while just taking it easy.

Thursday, November 3, 2011

You can usually find the little girls playing tea party during school lessons.

And Anna Rose's favorite part is hugging her dolly.

On the other hand, the boys enjoy playing with weapons and warfare.

When the dogs knock over the trash cans, someone has to clean up the mess. Nathaniel was hard at work raking up the pieces today.

I believe three other Green boys took advantage of the youngest Green boy's initiative to work...

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Anna Rose wanted to pet the donkeys, but did not like it one little bit when...

she realized she had donkey drool on her hand.

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Anna Rose enjoyed counting during school lessons today.

Always a smile on her face...

And I believe Grace was rather cold today. She lingered for a while at the heater while grabbing a pencil for her English lessons.

And then I found her working at the table with ear muffs!!!

This is music class, complete with maracas, horns, etc...I think Grace wishes she had her ear muffs handy.
