Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

This is the kind of picture you find on your camera after the children have taken it outside.

And thank you for your prayers for our sweet Julieann.

She is feeling better and was able to visit with the calves today.

And my Autumn Faith looked at me as if to say, "Mom, help me find the toy I dropped."

Little did she know she had caught it herself!!

Evening chores,

and caring for the animals

at the end of day.

Today Daddy and Carolyn took Julieann and Nathaniel to see our pediatrician. Please pray for Julieann. She is a very sick little girl right now. It seems as though she's picked up some sort of bacterial infection. Hopefully the lab test results will help us with a plan of action.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel needed to be seen for a huge knot on his big toe. Dr. B listened intently to a five year old's explanation of his problem.

And because Nathaniel's story was so amusing, and Dr. B really didn't know what this "bump" was, Dr. B ended the exam with the encouraging words of how "cute" Nathaniel's toe was (can't crush a five year old's image) and how the specialist at MCG could help soon.

While we were in Pine Mountain, my little girls were pretty in pig tails back home,

and Benjamin built a sled to pull behind the golf cart (with no snow needed).

And today the guys were trying to work out the details to make the little Green children a slide attached to the existing swing set.

But Caitlin and the little ones decided to take matters into their own hands and make an instant slide using the wooden fences.

Mommy, Daddy, and Autumn Faith are spending time in Pine Mountain, GA.

Daddy has a business meeting and Autumn Faith is so happy to accompany him.

Everyone enjoys visiting

and loving on the baby calves.

Even the dogs can't resist petting and giving them kisses...

We spent the morning at MCG for Grace's kidney checkup. Unfortunately, she still has kidney reflux and needs surgery in April. Please pray for Grace in the upcoming months.

Grace did really well with her procedure today and Daddy treated her to some pastries at the Sunshine Bakery in downtown Augusta. Notice a happy Grace skipping along...

Once again Daniel brought home some critters in the back of his truck.

Two new calves!

Joseph made friends with the Brown Swiss calf.

We lost some pecan limbs last weekend, and today the boys tried to help clean up the mess while Daddy was at work.

Anna Rose thought this particular limb should be chopped into firewood.

Today we ventured out to our pediatrician's office to check on Autumn Faith's congestion and cold symptoms. The doctor said her lungs sounded fine, and hopefully she'll be feeling better soon. We ran by Chick Fil A for lunch, and Anna Rose was so precious eating her fruit cup in the back of the bus that Kenny had to snap a photo.

When it's time for school lessons to resume in the afternoon, we usually have to round up everyone from their after lunch "recess". Today we found Grace under a tree reading in peace and quiet.

And when the boys can't be found, they are usually up to something. Thomas and Nathaniel were found at the other end of the house making bow and arrows from...

old scraps of Daddy's wire, rubber bands, and short pencils. Nothing goes to waste at the Green house.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Thomas (with Grace's help) made a very special bracelet for a very special sister for Valentine's Day.

Anna Rose was so excited to receive it, and couldn't wait for Thomas to put the bracelet on her wrist.

"Thank you sweet brother."

"You're welcome."

Those that were well this weekend had to face the wind and cold to gather firewood. Joseph kept his face covered at all times.

And the older boys made this tent compound for the little ones to rest and keep warm.

Notice the baseball bat used for part of the frame, black space heater to the right, and lots of pillows and old blankets. Quite spacious! The older ones played games for most of the day.

Daddy took some of the boys shopping for more oranges, kleenexes, and other cold necessities at Walmart. I think they had a little too much fun on the Valentine aisle.

How are we dealing with the cold at the Green house?

We are eating lots and lots of oranges,

and playing with lots and lots of "thinking putty". Even when resting on the couch, the thinking putty keeps little hands busy. Thomas' orange putty changes to yellow after kneading it with his hands for awhile. Heat sensitive putty is a lot of fun for sick girls and boys.

And they also enjoy creating things, like keys...

and pasta dishes (elbow macaroni and spaghetti plates). Some of the Greens are feeling better, but we still have a few little ones that cannot seem to shake the cold.

Even though she's sick, Autumn Faith still has a smile for her Mommy.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Today Nathaniel asked if he could have some peppermint sticks (actually 3 of them) for his sore throat. I told him he could have only one because he would get sick if he ate too many. He turned to me and said, "But I'm already sick..."

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Runny noses. Fever. Sore throat. Achiness. And now Mommy and Daddy have "the sickness." Hopefully we'll all be well soon...

Monday, February 6, 2012

This weekend Daddy took the Green children exploring through the culvert under the interstate.

Every once in a while, a big brother had to help a little brother through the water.

When they reached the other side, the search began...

for frogs to take back to the little girls resting at home.

And every good Green boy must put in his share of work. Benjamin decided these logs were a job for Daniel.

Saturday, February 4, 2012

The lilttle girls decided to join the boys in Viking warfare today.

And Daddy brought home 18 quail from his hunting excursion yesterday. The boys learned how to remove shot and clean the birds properly.

Grilled quail stuffed with jalapenos and cream cheese for dinner!

Today was a beautiful day for picking daffodils.

"Here comes that pig again."

And the chase was on...

Benjamin was so close to capturing the pig.

But we lost her once again. Rosie was standing guard in the driveway just in case...

From last night's post: HISTORY OF THE SHAKEROCK (otherwise known as the "Balance Rock" or " Indian Throne")

Cited from the book, "History of McDuffie County, Georgia: "This is a curiosity of nature, one large rock is perfectly balanced upon another, so that it rocks to and fro, upon being given a start, yet cannot be dislodged...The top rock of the balanced rock is hollowed out, and tradition says the Indians used this in which to beat out corn. It probably acquired its title "Indian Throne" on account of its resemblance to a throne or seat, and there is also a tradition that it was used as the throne of an Indian Chief." Thomas is sitting in the hollowed out "throne" in the photo below.
