Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

After walking through the city of Savannah on a warm day, the boys, Autumn Faith, and I took a relaxing break in our hotel room.

Then Daddy met us after the conference and we headed to the beach for some fun.

Autumn Faith loves hugging her Momma.

Balancing on the boardwalk.

Autumn Faith loved spending time with her brothers this Savannah trip!

Mommy, Daddy, Joseph, Benjamin, and

Autumn Faith are in Savannah.

Notice Benjamin watching for incoming ships, and Joseph taking notes of the ship's name and number so they can track them online. The Green children love taking turns accompanying Daddy to his work conferences.

And in return, Daddy must accompany the Green children to the candy sweet shop!

Evening... Time for working in the garden,

and picking radishes for salads, bunnies,

and little boys.

Even a sweet baby finds joy at this time of the day.

The sun finally sets a little lower, all the animals are fed, and a sweet two year old excitedly discovers one egg hiding in a corner of the chicken coop.

Sometimes my Anna Rose clutches eggs too tightly, and the bath and bedtime routine begins a little early.

A big brother must do his duty inspecting the tire for spiders or critters

before little sisters climb inside

and have lots of hilarious fun!

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

My old cellphone case, a piece of cardboard, and some crayons make a perfect iPhone for Julieann.

And Anna Rose thinks it takes great pictures too!

Today was the day for the hanging of the rabbits. The Green children thought the rabbits would be safe from the dogs and predators hanging from the eaves of the barn.

But the little girls must learn not to stand UNDER the cage :)

Everyone enjoyed playing games together this weekend.

And now (since Caitln's bunnies were such a big hit) we have 2 rabbits! Grace loves resting and reading with her bunny.

Daniel was busy building rabbit cages this afternoon.

And of course there were spectators.

Inside, Nathaniel was taking such good care of his little sister.

Today the Green family visited Open House at the Warrenton Water Plant - one of Daddy's recent projects.

And Daddy and Joseph towed the tractor to Mr. Farmer's house to weld the wheels.

The highlight of Julieann's and Rosie's day was to pet (and kiss) Caitlin's new bunny rabbits.

Grace has been busy making paper dolls the last couple of days. Can you guess who these delightful girls are???

That's right. Our wonderful, fun-loving Green girls!

Today was Nathaniel's turn to visit MCG for an MRI on his big toe. Laying perfectly still for 45 minutes is not very easy for a soon-to-be six-year-old. We'll talk to the doctor next week.

More quiet time activities to help Grace with her recovery.

Meanwhile, Carolyn was working on Geometry and discovered one of her answers was incorrect.

Thank you to Donehoos, Groovers, and Thorpes for the delicious dinner! We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

And Grace is very blessed to have so many siblings to keep her company during her weeks of resting.

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Everyone is sweet to play games with Grace while she recovers.

And Autumn Faith loves to watch her siblings supporting one another.

Grace wants to be outside while everyone is working, but she can't take golf cart rides for awhile. Now she has lots of time for reading, which is one of her favorite activities.

The rest of the Green crew has a big garden to weed each evening. Tonight Rosie was a little concerned. "Dad, are you sure that was a weed?"

Monday, April 16, 2012

Two little boys waiting on Daddy in the barber shop. Notice how serious they are about the hunting magazine :)

Saturday, April 14, 2012

Grace was in the mood for a mixed berry shortcake today!

And while Grace was inside taking it easy with a lollipop and painting,

the little girls were relaxing with Caitlin.

And everyone gathered together for a peaceful evening fishing and enjoying the spring weather!

Friday, April 13, 2012

Grace spent time resting with Autumn Faith today,

while the rest of the Green crew played on an old tire Daniel brought home from the feed store.

The little ones loved climbing inside and having lots of fun.

On the way home from MCG!

And when we arrove home, a new baby donkey was awaiting, born on Grace's surgery day. Thank you for your continued prayers for Grace. She is now resting at home and will have to take it easy for a month or so.

After some rest last night,

we were thankful to see a smile on Grace's face this morning!

Thanks to everyone who brought activities to keep Grace's mind occupied rather than focusing on the pain.

And thank you for all the beautiful flower and plant arrangements that brighten Grace's room.

Tuesday, April 10,2012

Thank you for the prayers and phone calls for Grace. Her surgery went well today and the doctors are hopeful that her kidney reflux issues will be resolved. She experienced a lot of pain after surgery, but hopefully the pain medication will help her to rest tonight.

The doctors and staff at MCG are taking wonderful care of Grace.

And Autumn Faith has been right by her side with an encouraging smile! Here she is with her little monkey that was given to her as a sibling of a surgery patient. She LOVES it!

Family photo after Sunday's Easter church service.

And when we came home, we discovered Lady Belle had given birth to twins! Unfortunately one of the little bucks did not survive. But "Buster" is full of life and very healthy!

Rosie just had to give him a kiss.

And we all had an enjoyable Easter egg hunt with grandparents and cousins.

Rosie won the contest of collecting the most eggs when everyone poured their eggs into her bucket. How sweet!

Please pray for Grace's kidney reflux surgery tomorrow morning. We appreciate your prayers!

Friday, April 6, 2012 - GOOD FRIDAY

"Today He who hung the earth upon the waters is hung upon the Cross.

He who is King of the angels is arrayed in a crown of thorns.

He who wraps the heaven in clouds is wrapped in the purple of mockery.

He who in Jordan set Adam free receives blows upon His face.

The Bridegroom of the Church is transfixed with nails.

The Son of the Virgin is pierced with a spear.

We venerate the Passion, O Christ.

Today was the day for Frog Dissection!

Dissection days are indeed a family affair. Carolyn was blessed to have an instruction guide holder, light operator, and many surgical assistants. Don't the Green children look so serious and intellectual? Just look at the video of their initial reaction.

And yes, they are farm kids: pulling chickens from dog's mouths, killing predators, asissting goats during birth, baiting hooks, cleaning coops and stalls, but you give them a prepackaged frog and well.....that's a different story.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

I caught these two running outside to meet Daddy coming home from work. Even the older children look forward to that special time of day...

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Julieann found a handful of worms today and was not afraid to hold and let them wiggle all over her hands. Notice Anna Rose looks a little more cautious.

According to Julieann, her handful of worms was a family and she was excited to find the "Momma".

Rosie was a little hesitant, but she decided to hold the "baby" (Carolyn and I didn't have the heart to tell her the baby was actually a worm cut in half by the shovel).

Did you know that a hound dog's job...

is to serve as a hurdle for a jumping 3 year old?

And then his duty is to lie down to make the clearance height easier,

and simply wait for the next jump.
