Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Today Thomas was pricked over 40 times for some allergy testing. He was such a brave boy!

I believe the nurse was having more fun than Thomas.

And Daniel and Caitlin have been painting and tearing out carpet to put in wood flooring at the little house. Everything will look so warm and cozy by the time May arrives!

Nathaniel's surgery went well. Dr. Cearley is optimistic that he removed all of the tumor. He will monitor Nathaniel closely for the next year to see if there is any new growth.

At the Green house, we love dress up - and I never know how my children will take clothes and other items around our house to make such adorable outfits....Please remember Nathaniel tomorrow morning during his toe surgery. We are praying that the doctors can remove all of the tumor from his left big toe.

Autumn Faith visited Savannah again this past weekend for another work conference with Daddy!

"Mommy, my hair has been combed and brushed. I'm ready for our lunch date with Daddy."

"Please take my picture."

"Ok, Autumn Faith. Smile pretty for the camera."

"Mommy, I'm really hungry. When will Daddy be here?"

"Well, he just called and said sessions are running late. It will probably be another hour."

"You're kidding..."

The Green family and Caitlin spent time cleaning the "little house" today.

After putting in a long hard day's work, an iced coffee sure hits the spot!

Friday, July 20, 2012

We've been working hard bringing all of our clothes and shoes from storage at the "little house" so Daniel and Caitlin can begin their renovations.

Grace swept our attic and helped to make room for our clothes and shoe bins.

This evening Julieann enjoyed playing with the chickens.

Grace has always loved catching chickens for the little ones to enjoy.

It is the simple pleasures that bring a smile to a child's face.

And we are thankful for another bowlfull of tomatoes from our garden!

Some Greens are assigned to play with chickens. There are other Greens responsible for picking tomaotes. And still others must see to the maintenance of the farm...

This morning while I was nursing the baby in my chair, I looked out on the front porch and saw Rosie sipping a cup of coffee. Joseph always wakes up early in the morning to prepare Kenny's coffee and lunch for the workday. Sometimes Kenny allows Joseph to make a cup of coffee for himself to enjoy too. Joseph always sweetly shares his treat with his siblings that are awake with him at the beginning of the day. I've always said our front porch was a morning porch, and I guess Rosie thought so too.

All alone, and in deep thought in-between sips,

Rosie's face told us sometimes a cool morning, a Southern front porch, a pretty piece of china, and a cup of decaf, just makes the day a little happier...

Julieann and Nathaniel enjoyed "hanging around" in the Magnolia tree today.

Our calves saw the Green children out today with the camera and wanted to send a message on our blog: Eat Mor Chikin!

And feeding the animals is never a dull moment on the farm!

I believe Thomas has heard me ask Daniel a thousand times to make sure no little Greens are in the driveway before backing up. I'm glad to see that Thomas will be a safe driver :)

Let's see: fried green tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, salsa, tomato biscuits, tomato sandwiches, tomatoes in salad greens, tomatoes in pasta salad, and tonight's specialty - tomato pie! We are thankful for our tomato harvest!!!

Julieann strolled through the wildflowers today with a basketful of persimmons.

It wasn't long before the horses became her best friends.

A brother's hip just cannot hold little ones for any length of time...

"The resourcefulness which will enable a family of children to invent their own games and occupations through the length of a summer's day

is worth more in (later) life than a good deal of knowledge about cubes and hexagons."

When life seems to be difficult,

a little love brightens the day.

Cowgirl Rosie.

Mischievous cowgirl Rosie.

Julieann and Anna Rose love to help Carolyn with the morning milking chores.

And when we discovered the dogs had chewed the little snap-set kiddie pool, Kenny surprised the Green children with an above ground pool to help them stay cool this summer.

Daddy also surprised the little girls with a plastic pool (hopefully the dogs will leave it alone). Autumn Faith enjoyed her time splashing in the cool water (and so did Daddy).

A little kiddie pool helped everyone cool off this afternoon.

Julieann decided to watch the horses play in the water too.

During a swim break, everyone enjoyed leftover Fourth of July cookies.

And Miss Autumn Faith thought the warm weather required an appropriate hat!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Caitlin was sweet to take our picture today before the Fourth of July festivites began.

And next spring we will be able to include her in our family pictures! Yes, Daniel and Caitlin are engaged!. We are so proud of them for their mature decisions, initiative in renovating the "little house" for a perfect newlywed cottage, and committment to seeking God's Word in their lives.

After a delicious meal, everyone enjoyed talking around the table,

listening to music with grandparents and cousins,

and playing games.

Everyone gathered around the pond waiting for the sun to go down. But if you look closely, it appears that Kenny is leading the congregation in the song "Deep and Wide" :)

The festivites began (and you can see Daniel running for safety after lighting the fireworks).

And of course sparklers are a great way to end the evening!

Preparing for the Fourth-of-July picnic.

While Carolyn and I were decorating cookies, these two were sharing a little sisterly affection.

Sweet girls ...

Another basketful of tomatoes means fresh salsa for the Green family.

And the taste test concludes...

It's a winner recipe!
