Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Tonight, Julieann anticipated a severe thunderstorm.

Anna Rose quietly observed the sights and sounds,

and then explained her experience at length...

Julieann's follow up appointment went well today. Her pediatrician thinks she should be fine after her 10 day course of antibiotics. After eating a bite of lunch, Kenny and I took Julieann to the Party Supply store to find another butterfly balloon. The last balloon was accidentally let "free" by an older sibling. But Julieann was very forgiving, and for her sweet spirit, we surprised her with another one.

Julieann enjoyed picking more jonquils in the horse pasture today.

Meanwhile, Rosie decided to spend her time in a tree,

and Autumn Faith discovered that jonquils make delightful hairbows.

I found Thomas in the back yard experimenting with the leaf blower. Doesn't he look so pleased with himself?

I couldn't resist this picture today. The reds match perfectly!

And the boys worked hard this afternoon repairing broken boards on the fences.

The intense expressions on their faces while working were priceless!

Inside, the girls enjoyed tea time with chocolate covered cherries.

Testing the temperature of the tea was a must for my sweet Rosie.

And I love how the cherry was out of the chocolate, some of the tea was out of the cup, but most of all, how the fingers were out to stir the tea with such delicacy.

There is no better place than the floor for school lessons.

Joseph was helping the little Greens with phonics rules today, and as I snapped the picture, I noticed Rosie pulling the tape off of the Multiplication Chart.

Anna Rose then discovered she was caught on camera. Don't you just love "the look".

And everyone enjoyed decorating for one of our favorite holidays...Valentine's Day.

The Green children decided to ride bikes for a recess break today. Well, Benjamin got a little inventive and decided a leaf blower would allow him to enjoy riding without pedaling. It worked!

Christmas in January! Grandma visited tonight and everyone enjoyed exchanging Christmas gifts.

Poor Autumn Faith is cutting another tooth and is not her happy, smiley self. Thank you for the continued prayers for Julieann. She is resting at home, playing games, and snuggling her Mama...

Julieann was excited to finally leave the hospital today. She will be on an antibiotic for 10 more days and then the doctor will repeat chest xrays.

The Green children had a welcome home surprise party complete with homemade party hats, wood carvings, and other gifts made by Julieann's siblings.

She wanted to give big hugs to everyone!

In turn, Julieann shared the banana from her hospital breakfast tray with Nathaniel. Julieann's exact words were: "That makes a banana split."

Julieann's favorite chair at the hospital is the one by the window. She loves to draw, color, and count the number of ambulances driving down the road.

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Julieann's room is a little brighter with her orchids from Daniel and jonquils picked by Grace. Julieann's fever is down and her pediatrician is ordering chest x-rays and more lab work to check her white blood cell count. Thank you for all your prayers.

Thank you for praying for our little butterfly.

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

We would appreciate your prayers for Julieann. She has been admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. We are praying she will feel some comfort soon.

The weather has been glorious! We caught Autumn Faith reflecting on her spring wardrobe.

And Rosie was sweet to share her lollipop with Autumn Faith,

and Dutchess.

While one sister was sharing a lollipop, the other sister was sharing hugs.

Friday, January 11, 2013 - HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY DANIEL !!!!!

It's hard to believe that 20 years have passed since the day Daniel was born. Kenny and I are so thankful that the Lord gave us our sweet little boy who has grown into a fine, young man. There have been many wonderful memories over the past 20 years, and we look forward to many more!

And while waiting for the birthday boy to arrive home after work, I caught Nathaniel enjoying the day under the magnolia tree. All of the Green boys work hard and play hard. The knees tell all.

At Shakerock Farm you must be prepared when stray dogs wander into the yard searching for chickens. Grace gave Rosie a little training shooting targets with the airsoft BB gun.

This is my water fountain. Everything looks so bare in winter, but when I passed by the window today, I saw a magnolia leaf sticking out of the top.

I found the target for the shooting class.

At dusk I found Grace and Julieann in the horse pasture. A hay ring makes a perfect country girl balance beam.

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Last night when Carolyn and Joseph were finishing milking chores, they discovered that a new baby goat had been born!

This morning we visited both Mama goat and her healthy little buck.

Of course Grace couldn't resist giving the baby a kiss.

And Julieann was tickled when Maggie nuzzled and licked the new goat.

Rosie is still not feeling well, but she did not want to miss her turn holding the little buck.

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Autumn Faith enjoys being all bundled and playing babydoll with Grace.

I captured my playful Julieann today riding on the front porch.

And it was delightful to see two sweet sisters sharing flowers.

In the afternoons, you can often find Benjamin sitting on a log carving wood.

Our children love felts, and when we found this Bible felt set after Christmas,

the older Green children decided to help cut out all the figures (and there are 600 figures).

Then we have to place them on their proper card to file them away to use for the Bible lessons. The little ones keep asking when we'll be finished :)

Monday, January 7, 2013

Today's school lessons were relaxed because some of the Green children are still recovering from the flu. Carolyn showed everyone the organs of a frog and fit the pieces together for a biology dissection lesson. The schoolwork soon became an exciting game when Benjamin decided to time everyone to see who could assemble Mr. Frog the fastest.

And here is Mr. Frog (actually during our biology lesson, we learned the name should be Mrs. Frog).

Saturday, January 5, 2013

I found this wigwam in my front rooms today.

The boys had built it out of dining room chairs and blankets for the little Greens who were still not feeling well.

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Nathaniel's expression pretty much sums up the way he felt all day.

The older boys were sweet to play in the same room while Nathaniel was resting so he could still be a part of the gang.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

"Now this is a candy cane from Christmas."

"And it's very good."

"You really should try a lick."

"See, isn't sharing so much fun?"

And after the sharing experience, next came the squeezing and hugging experiences from Autumn Faith.

Tuesday, January 1, 2013 - Happy New Year!!!

Half of the Greens spent the first day of the New Year in their PJ's with a fever, cough, runny nose, and sore throat (and looking just like this).

For those that were feeling well, the day had to continue as normal with chores and lots of folding laundry.

And a little time for playing games.

Kenny says we send him to Sam's Club too often for silverware because we never have enough forks. Now we know why they disappear...

She doesn't look guilty at all, does she?
