Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

After dinner, there is nothing better than a family gathering with music and singing.

While Autumn Faith sings an Italian classic (Time to Say Goodbye),

Benjamin and Julieann learn to tune out the noise.

"We do not segment our lives, giving some time to God, some to our business or schooling, while keeping parts to ourselves. The idea is to live all of our lives in the presence of God, under the authority of God, and for the honor and glory of God. That is what the Christian life is all about." ---R.C. Sproul

And I don't want to forget that on Sunday, Anna Rose looked at me and said, "Mom, I want to die with my eyes open so I can see God."

Today we enjoyed fellowship at the Hancock's home in South Georgia. Rosie did not let the rain stop her from having fun.

Grace took my camera outside today,

and had a little too much fun,

capturing the curiosity of the critters.

Joseph was a supportive big brother for Anna Rose's three year checkup.

One screen, one couch, and eight Green children.

Tonight we enjoyed fellowship with the McGahee family. Autumn Faith was very content sitting with Mr. Jeff while he read a storybook.

Caleb and Joseph received LOTS of advice from onlookers during their game of checkers.

Joseph and Benjamin enjoyed shooting clay birds with Daddy and other gentlemen from McCormick, South Carolina. If you notice in the video, Benjamin's hearing protectors kept slipping down. The boys did an excellent job and we discovered they have natural talent!

Thursday, February 14, 2013 - Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Birthday Caitlin!

Sometimes no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to get everyone to look at the camera.

This afternoon the Green children, along with Mr. Dave and the rest of the band, played at the Wilkes County Library. Everyone had an enjoyable time presenting the history of Appalachian music and playing songs.

And this evening we celebrated Caitlin's birthday. Daniel made it home from Rhode Island and helping in the snowstorm just in time to have birthday pizza and ice cream cake with the family and Caitlin.

Today we ran some errands at Costco. Can you tell Autumn Faith's favorite snack is Cheez Its?

She wanted to hold the box during the entire shopping trip,

and all the way home.

"Love is the overflow of joy in God!...It is first a deeply satisfying experience of the fullness of God's grace, and then a doubly satisfying experience of sharing that grace with another person."

--John Piper

Our Sunday tradition is to walk down to the river after church service and fellowship dinner.

Autumn Faith always has the best view!

Kenny and I had the opportunity to place flowers on family members' graves in Charleston on the way home today.

The Giant's Causeway in Ireland

And a piece of the Giant's Causeway in Charleston. Kenny and I are really enjoying our trip to Charleston.

Sometimes the Green children ask me if they can take surplus soap bars for carving. Today everyone enjoyed creating their own masterpieces.

Did you know soap carvings require serious thought,

and muscle power?

They also require in depth explanations.

Nathaniel concentrated on the finishing touches to his soap bowl. And yes, I may not have a knife to butter toast with in the morning for breakfast.

Joseph assembled his bird jungle gym today for Chico. Autumn Faith sat for the longest time just watching Chico play.

But when Joseph had to clean up after his bird, Autumn Faith thought it was a little yucky.

When Chico landed on the back of her chair, Autumn Faith looked at him for a second,

and then decided to give him a sweet kiss. And Chico was very gentle in return...
