Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Mr. Dave and Carolyn warmed up with a cup of coffee this morning before playing music at Pioneer Days in Lincolnton.

This year we introduced our Gourmet Pecan Brittle and sold out within a few hours.

And everyone stocked up on goat milk soap for the upcoming year.

This was Charles' first year at Pioneer Days and he LOVED all the sights and sounds.

Rosie was sweet to share her cotton candy with Autumn Faith. All in all, we had a very enjoyable day!

This verse is a favorite of the Green family. It reminds us daily of striving to be diligent, not giving in to "idleness" but rather stretching out our hands to work, and thus minding our own business and not meddling in the affairs of other men.

"And that ye study to be quiet,

and to do your own business,

and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you..." 1 Thessalonians 4:11

Lord willing, we will be introducing some of our new soaps at Pioneer Days in Lincolnton, Ga next Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This year we have His and Her Camo Soaps, Mistletoe and Ivy for Christmas, and Bubble Gum scented soaps for the young at heart, plus 14 other fragrances! Stop by our booth and say hello. The older Green children will be playing Appalachian music throughout the day as well. We're looking forward to a relaxing, enjoyable day!

Sometimes our life is very organized, structured, and serious...

And othertimes,

it is not...

Tonight we captured our sweet "Little Bear" warming by the fire.

Pookie's pizza...

and seasonal floral and leaf arrangements created by my little ones.

Autumn Faith asked for help putting her sweater on this afternoon.. I asked her if she was going to ride her new bicycle on the patio. She responded, "No.... I'm going to play in the dirt." And she was right...

Rosie favorite spot this fall has been high in the dogwood tree.

And here's a video from last night's performance at "History in the Park" in Lincolnton, Ga.

After making almond brittle with the four younger Green children, I found them chatting together sampling their creation.

Fun with hairdos after bathtime.

Friday night's bonfire resulted in...

a hot dog

and Smore's roast.

Today the girls helped me crack and shell pecans to make...

pecan pralines.

Waiting on them to cool was difficult,

but they sure brought a smile to the hardworking boys' faces.

Everyone enjoyed celebrating Thomas' birthday at the fair yesterday afternoon.

Little kids on the little swings...

Big kids on the big swings.

Autumn Faith loved the slide! Poor Rosie spent most of the time sliding on her...

Thomas' favorite ride was the bumper cars.

And the older Green kids talked Thomas and Nathaniel into riding the Cliff Hanger. Nathaniel looked a little nervous before the ride began.

But everyone held on (tightly) and enjoyed the ride...

Monday, October 20, 2014 - Happy 10th Birthday Thomas!

Today we celebrated Thomas' 10th birthday. He loves to experiment and explore, so a microscope was the perfect gift! We are very thankful the Lord has placed Thomas in our family. He is always available to help and locate things no one else can find. We pray the Lord blesses him greatly this year.

Saturday work projects included continuing demolition on the back porch, and

wrapping soap and restocking the shelves in preparation for Pioneer Days Saturday, November 22nd in Lincolnton, Ga.

Friday, October 17, 2014

Having teenagers in the house is always an adventure. When Kenny and I returned home from Costco, I was restocking the storeroom shelves with flour, nuts, canned goods, and chocolate chips. Carolyn thought it was cute to snap a picture of Mama helping herself to a few chocolate chips while working...

Julieann led me through the cow pasture today to show me what the boys have been building...

a treehouse in a cluster of sweet-gum trees.

Thomas was the first one up the ladder,

and then the other Green children followed.

Anna Rose decided the ground was a safer spot to admire the boys' handiwork.

Baskets of apples received from this past weekend,

plus a rainy day this afternoon,

equals some delicious, homemade apple jelly!

Monday, October 13, 2014 - HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY AUTUMN FAITH!!!

Our baby girl turned 3 years old today. The crib that has been standing for 21 years and slept all 10 of our babies was finally disassembled and transported to the attic. A new "big girl" bed now stands in its place. Oh, how the years have gone by. We are very thankful the Lord has blessed our family with our sweet, Autumn Faith. She is a delightful child who is very serious, yet radiates with joy throughout the days. We pray the Lord will bless her richly in the years ahead...

Saturday, October 11, 2014

The Green family spent an enjoyable Saturday at MULE DAYS. While listening to her siblings play their instruments in front of the old schoolhouse, Autumn Faith posed prettily by a tree.

At lunchtime, the band moved to the main stage where they played for an hour,

took a break and visited with friends,

then played during a jam session at the old cabin. Today we had a full day of old-fashioned music!

Friday, October 10, 2014

Charles and Caitlin stopped by for a visit this morning, and I think Charles enjoyed the rides on the back of all his uncles' old John Deere truck.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

A beautiful day for a picnic...

Monday, October 6, 2015

Yesterday we celebrated Benjamin's 13th birthday. We are very proud of the young man that Benjamin has become! He is always willing to help, eager to assist the little ones, and ready to repair or build anything needed. We continue to pray the Lord will bless him this year.
