Sweet and Lovable, a Delight to Everyone
Julieann, the eighth of the Green children, was born May 2, 2008. A delightful baby from the beginning, Julieann quickly stole the hearts of Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters. In late October 2008, our precious girl was diagnosed with infantile spasms, a rare form of epilepsy. As her illness unfolded, we began documenting her progress on this page so that friends and family would know specifically how to pray for her. We are so thankful to the Lord that her outcome so far is very good. For now, Julieann is seizure-free. We know that the seizures could return tomorrow, or in 10 years - so please continue to pray for her.

"The lark is up to meet the sun,

The bee is on the wing;

The ant its labor has begun,

The woods with music ring.

Shall birds, and bees, and ants, be wise,

While I my moments waste?

Oh, let me with the morning rise,

And to my duty haste." ---William H. McGuffey

Look who's One Year Old! Today we celebrated Charles' 1st Birthday(which was actually yesterday) at Daniel and Caitlin's new house in Lincolnton. Charles was a very happy boy...

especially when he was served his own "personal" tractor cake by his Mommy and Daddy.

And Grandma and Grandpa were very happy to be a part of the celebration.

With the cold weather and some of the Greens recuperating from the cold virus, Benjamin made stilts to "entertain" the little ones inside the house today.

Trying to keep everyone comfortable during this yucky cold virus that has swept through the Green house.

Today was filled with Valentine chocolates,

rose gummy candies,

Valentine window clings,

and LOTS of LOVE...

we remember moments." ---Italian poet

Today we moved Daniel, Caitlin, and Charles from the "little house" to their new home in Lincolnton. I believe all of us felt mixed emotions. We were sad to see them go, but are thankful for all the wonderful memories the Lord has blessed us with over the past 2 years. Caitlin wrote this "ode" before they left:

"Ode to our first house---Two years in this house is long enough for these walls to have many stories to tell. They have witnessed a new marriage, bending and changing to learn new ways. They have also seen a new life created and born. They know every breath he has taken for his first year of life. Imprinted in these walls are his first bath, first smile, first roll, first time sitting up, first word, first steps, and so many more firsts. They have even begun to watch our second new life forming inside of me. They say that trees have rings for every year of their life in them, I hope there are 2 rings covered with every second of our 2 years here that will forever be etched in the trees surrounding us. Our last day here is bittersweet and leaving the memories that made this place home is hard but making new memories and growing in a home that is ours through sweat and tears, makes it worth it. And so I say goodbye forever and never forget our six hundred and eighteen days of life here."

Although the Green kids were sad to see them go, all of the puppies now have new homes.

Nathaniel journaling at Joseph's new wall desk.

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

A first sign that spring will be here soon...

Joseph has been working on his "wall desk" that he made out of wood from an old 1800's upright player piano. The boys will mount it in their room and store all of their secret treasures inside.
